Pierogis are traditional Polish dumplings made from unleavened dough, filled with savory or sweet ingredients like potato and cheese, sauerkraut, mushrooms, or fruit, then boiled and often pan-fried, typically served with toppings such as sour cream, fried onions, or butter. They are a beloved comfort food in Central and Eastern Europe.
Taste the goodness of home-made Potato Pierogies and/or Cherry filled Pierogies with sides of apple sauce and sour cream, and a dusting of powdered sugar for the sweet version.
German/Swiss Kniffles (pronounced NIFF lees) are a savory, small egg dumpling or noodle, widely considered comfort food in Southern Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. They're also known as Spaetzle or Knöpfle. Sample home-made kniffles in brown butter with sides of pork steak and sauerkraut and mashed potatoes.
